Assigning Department Administrators by Kintone Users & System Administrators

This section describes the procedure for Kintone Users & System Administrators to assign department administrators.

For details on department administrators, refer to "What Is a Department Administrator?".
A department can have up to 1,000 department administrators.

Considerations to be made before assigning department administrators

A department administrator can manage not only users who belong to departments for which the department administrator has administrative privileges, but also users who do not belong to any department. For example, the department administrator can edit such users' information or add them to the department for which the administrator has administrative privileges.

Before assigning department administrators, Kintone Users & System Administrators should check for users who do not belong to any department and add them to appropriate departments, as needed. Note that, by default, the Administrator is a user who belongs to no department.

Configuring Department Administrators

  1. Click gear shaped administration menu icon in the header.

  2. Click "Users & System Administration".

  4. On the department whose department administrator you wish to configure, click gear shaped icon.

  5. Click Department Administrators.

  6. Select users to add as the department administrators using one of the following methods, and click the names of the users.

    • Method 1: Open the department tree and select a department to which your target users belong

    • Method 2: Search user name

  7. Click Add.

  8. Confirm that the target users are added to the "Department Administrators" section.

  9. Click Save.
    When a department administrator logs in, an accessible menu for Kintone Users & System Administration is displayed.
