Disabling Self-Service Password Reset

When you disable the self-service password reset, Kintone Users & System Administrators need to reset their password when users forget it.

  1. Click the gear-shaped menu button in the header.

  2. Click Users & System Administration.

  3. Click Login. Screenshot: "Login" is highlighted

  4. In the "Password Policy" section, clear "Allow users to reset password".

  5. Click Save.

  6. Create messages on how and to whom the users can ask support when they have trouble logging in.

User Accounts for Which Their Passwords Cannot Be Reset

Even when the self-service password reset is enabled, users cannot reset their password of their account if any of the following conditions are met.

  • No e-mail address is set in the user information
  • The e-mail address is also used for other accounts.
  • kintone.com is the only way for the user to receive e-mail

Passwords that cannot be reset by users should be changed by Kintone Users & System Administrators.
