When a User's Account Is Locked

A user can no longer log in to Kintone when the number of failed login attempts exceeds the value specified by an administrator.
To unlock the account, follow the steps described in Method 1 or Method 2.

Method 1: Ask the Kintone Users & System Administrator to Unlock the Account

Kintone Users & System Administrator can unlock the account by changing the user password.

Actions to Be Taken by Administrators

  1. Click gear shaped administration menu icon in the header.

  2. Click "Users & System Administration".

  4. Click Edit icon of the user whose password you want to change. Screenshot: Departments & Users screen. It shows how to edit users.

  5. Click Change Password in the upper right of the screen.

  6. Set a new password and then click "Save and Send via E-mail" or "Change Password".

  7. Ask the users whether they can log in successfully.

  8. As needed, reconsider the account lock setting.

Method 2: Wait Until "Account Lockout Duration" Passes

If the Kintone Users & System administrator has set the "Account Lockout Duration (how long locked out accounts remain locked out)" to a certain period, the account is unlocked when that period expires.
The default value is 3 minutes.

Refer to "Specifying the Maximum Number of Failed Login Attempts" to check where to specify "Account Lockout Duration (how long locked out accounts remain locked out)".

If "Never Unlock" Is Set

If "Account Lockout Duration (how long locked out accounts remain locked out)" is set to "Never unlock", the account is locked forever.
In this case, you should follow the steps described in "Method 1: Ask the Kintone Users & System Administrator to Unlock the Account".
