About Department Hierarchy

Creating a department hierarchy means showing departments in a parent-children structure.

Example of Organization Chart
  • Department A
    • Department A-1
    • Department A-2
    • Department A-3
  • Department B
    • Department B-1
    • :

A parent department is a department located at the top level of the organization.
In the above example, "Department A" is the parent department of "Department A-2".

A child department is a department located at the lower level of the organization.
In the above example, "Department B-1" is the child department of "Department B".

Method 1: Changing Parent Department

  1. Click gear shaped administration menu icon in the header.

  2. Click Users & System Administration.

  3. Click Departments & Users.

  4. On the department whose parent department you wish to change, click gear shaped icon .

  5. Click Edit.

  6. In "Parent Department", click a tree-like icon .

  7. Expand the tree and click the department you want to specify as a parent.

  8. Click Save.

  9. Check that the selected department is displayed on the target level.

  10. Change the display order, if necessary.

Method 2: Adding Child Department

  1. Click gear shaped administration menu icon in the header.

  2. Click Users & System Administration.

  3. Click Departments & Users.

  4. On the department to which you want to add a child department, click gear shaped icon .

  5. Click Add Child Department.

  6. Enter the values such as department name and department code.

  7. Click Save.

  8. Add a child member.
    Proceed to the next page.
