For Department Administrators: Changing Department Information

Department administrators can change the information of the departments, for which they have administrative privileges, and their child departments.
Department administrators cannot change the department information in bulk.

Procedure

  1. Access the following URL: https://(subdomain_name).kintone.com/

  2. Click Administration.

  3. Click Departments & Users.

  4. Click the gear-shaped icon on the department whose information you want to change.

  5. Click Change Department Information.

  6. Change the fields as needed.

  7. Click Save.

When Changing the Department to Which Child Departments Belong

Department administrators can change the department to which the child departments belong, as long as they have administrative privileges for the parent departments.

Sample scenario: The department administrator can change the department to which the child department belongs

When the department administrator has the administrative privileges for the Sales Division and the HR Division, they can move the child department of the Sales Division to the HR Division. When the department administrator has the administrative privileges for the Sales Division and the HR Division, they cannot move the child department of the Sales Division to the Development Division for which they do not have the administrative privileges. When Moving Child Departments Back to the Original Parent Department

Department administrators can move child departments back to the original parent department only when they have the administrative privileges for the original parent department.

Sample scenario: The department administrator can move the child department back to the original parent department

When the department administrator has the administrative privileges for the parent department to which the child department used to belong, they can move the child department back to the original parent department.
For example, when the department administrator has the administrative privileges for the Sales Division and the HR Division, the child department, that was moved from the Sales Division to the HR Division, can be moved back to the Sales Division.

When the department administrator does not have the administrative privileges for the parent department to which the child department used to belong, they cannot move the child department back to the original parent department.Ask your Kintone Users & System Administrators to perform the action.

For example, if the department administrator has the administrative privileges only for some departments under the Sales Division, the child department, that was moved from the Sales Division to the HR Division, cannot be moved back to the Sales Division.
