Creating Thread Actions

By creating a thread action, you can add an action menu to copy items such as thread comments to the specified apps.

You can use the created action from the action menu that is displayed when clicking Action in the comments of the thread, people, or message. Picture

The types of data you can copy by performing a thread action are comment text, posted date and time, posted by, and URL.
The fields available for destination vary depending on the data to be copied.
Before creating the thread actions, make sure that the target app contains the target field where the data is copied to.


The following example shows you how to create actions to copy comment texts, posted by, and URL to the To-Do app.

  1. Hover the cursor over any thread comment and click Action. Picture

  2. Click "New Action".

  3. In the "Name", enter the action name to display in the action menu.
    In this example, enter "Add to To-Do". Picture

  4. In the "Target" field, select the target app where the data is copied to.

  5. In "Field Mappings", specify the source data type and the destination field where the data is copied to.
    Picture You can also click Clear All to delete all the mappings that you already configured.

  6. In "Available To", you can specify users to whom you want to show the action menu.
    Add users, departments, or groups to whom you want to make the action available, if necessary.
    Picture If you add departments or groups, the action will be available to all members of the specified departments or groups.
    If you want to make the actions available to all users, add "Everyone".

  7. Click "Save".
