An Error Message "The Unique Field Already Contains Duplicated Values" Is Displayed. How Can I Check Duplicate Records?

When updating the app settings, you might receive an error message "Failed to complete the process. The unique field already contains duplicated values. Please remove them and try again. ". In this case, you can check the duplicate records by creating a graph and summarizing values with the Graphs feature.

In the Settings screen, click Discard Changes and click OK to abort updating the app settings, and then check the duplicate records in the following ways.

How to Check the Duplicate Records

To check the duplicate records, perform the following steps.

  1. Open the target app and click the settings button Settings button on the right side of the screen.

  2. Click the "Graphs" tab.

  3. Click the add button Image on the right side of the screen.

  4. Configure the graph as shown below.

    • Name: Optional (Example: Duplication Check)
    • Chart Type: Table
    • Group by (Level 1): Select a field to prohibit duplicate records
    • Function: Count (Number of Records)
    • Filter: All records
    • Sort by: Total, Descending
  5. Click "Save" on the upper left side of the screen.

  6. Click Update App on the upper right side of the screen, and click OK.

Displays the graph you configured.
If there are fields that show the value "2" or more as the number of records, it means you have records with duplicate values. Click "Show Records" to correct the duplicate value or consider deleting either of the duplicate records.

If the Error Persists

If the error persists even though the number of records column shows "1" for all data, the possible causes are as follows:

  • You cannot view the duplicate records due to the "Permissions for Records" setting
    Make sure that you have permission to view all records in the setting and try the steps in How to Check the Duplicate Records.

  • Duplicate records exist in the "Preview" screen
    Open the "Preview" screen and try the steps in the How to Check the Duplicate Records.
    To open the "Preview" screen, click the Settings button Settings button on the right side of the screen in the target app, open the "App Settings" tab, and click "Preview".
