A guest user has forgotten his/her password

When a guest user has forgotten his/her password and cannot log in, s/he needs to reset the password.
There are two ways to reset a password: a guest user resets his/her password, or an Administrator resets the password via Kintone Administration. Details are described in the following sections.

A Guest User Resets His/Her Password

On the login screen for guest users, click Forgot Your Password? to send an e-mail to reset the password. Set a new password from the URL included in the e-mail.

If a guest user has forgotten his/her e-mail address or if s/he does not receive the e-mail, ask Kintone System Administrators to check if the e-mail address is correct. As an alternative, ask Kintone System Administrators to reset the password.

Checking the E-mail Address of a Guest User (Operation by Administrators)

You can check a guest user's e-mail address in Kintone Administration.
The steps are as follows.

  1. Click the Settings button on the upper right side of the Kintone screen to open the "Kintone Administration" screen.

  2. Click Guest Management in the "Guests" section.

  3. Check the e-mail address of the guest user in question.

Inform the guest user of the e-mail address you have checked and ask him/her to reset the password via the login screen for guest users.

Resetting the Password for a Guest User (Operation by Administrators)

The password for a guest user can be reset via Kintone Administration.
The steps are as follows.

  1. Click the Settings button on the upper right side of the Kintone screen to open the "Kintone Administration" screen.

  2. Click Guest Management in the "Guests" section.

  3. Click the edit button Edit button on the left side of the guest user in question.

  4. Enter a new password in both "New Password" and "Confirm Password" fields and then click Save on the upper left side of the screen.

Inform the guest user of the new password.

Checking the URL of Login Page

If the guest user still fails to log in even after the password reset, s/he may be using the wrong URL for login.
We provide different login pages for guest users and standard users. Refer to the following information and check the URL of the login page.

  • Login page for guest users
    https://subdomain name.kintone.com/k/guest/guest/login
    For subdomain name, specify the name of Kintone subdomain which the guest user is to access.
