When Updating an App after Deleting a Category, "Failed to Complete the Process" Message Is Displayed

This app has records that belong to the category you are trying to delete.
You will also receive this error when the Category feature is disabled.

To apply the category deletion to the app, you need to edit the records and move the records to another category so that there are no records under the category you are trying to delete.

Procedure

The steps to perform this action are as follows.

(1) Edit records and make sure that no records belong to the category you are trying to delete.
(2) Apply the category deletion to the app.

You can perform this action without discarding the change to the App Settings. While leaving the error message displayed, return to the View from the App Settings page, and then perform the action.

First, edit records and make sure that no records belong to the category you are trying to delete.

  1. Open the View.

  2. In the category list on the left side of the screen, click the category you want to delete.
    After that, the records belongs to the selected category are listed.

  3. Edit the records under the selected category to deselect the category you want to delete.

    Repeat this step until no records are displayed under the category you want to delete.

Second, apply the category deletion to the app.

  1. Click the Settings icon Settings icon on the upper right side of the screen.

  2. If you discarded the change in the App Settings, navigate to the Categories on the "App Settings" tab to delete the category.

  3. Click Update App on the upper right side of the screen, and click OK.
