When I open an app, a message "(alphabet character string) plug-in is not installed properly. Contact the Kintone administrator." appears

Article Number:040256

Error image This error message appears when you create a template from an app including a plug-in and then try to create an app using the template in a different Kintone environment.

The alphabet string in the error message indicates the ID of the plug-in you need to add. Identify the required plug-in using the plug-in ID and add it in Kintone Administration in the environment where you want to use the app.

Identifying the Plug-In You Need to Add

There are two ways to identify the plug-in you need to add using a plug-in ID. In both ways, you need to perform the action in the Kintone environment where the template was created from an app.

  • Identify the plug-in by downloading a list of plug-ins
Kintone Users & System Administrators can download a list of plug-ins in CSV format (UTF-8 with BOM). By downloading a list of plug-ins, you can see the name of the app that contains a specific plug-in and its plug-in ID in a table.
To download a plug-in list, open the "Plug-ins" screen in Kintone Administration, and click Download in CSV format. For more details on steps, refer to the "Downloading Plug-in List in CSV Format" page. Image of plug-in list

  • Identify the plug-in on the settings page of the app from which the app template was created
If you know the app from which the app template was created, you can directly open the settings page of the app to find the ID of the plug-in added to the app.
Open the Settings page, select the App Settings tab, and then click Plug-ins under Customization and Integration. When you open the settings page of the plug-in you want to check, you can find the plug-in ID in its URL.
For more details on how to open the settings page of the plug-in, refer to " Adding/Deleting Plug-Ins (App Settings)" page. Image of the Plug-ins Settings page

After you identified the plug-in you need to add, prepare the plug-in file and import it on the "Plug-ins" screen in Kintone Administration.
For more details on how to import plug-ins in Kintone Administration, refer to the "Adding/Deleting Plug-Ins (System Administration)" page.
