The Text field allows users to enter text on a form.
The Text field can also display a calculation result of a formula, for example, to join strings from other fields.
The Text field does not accept line-breaks. If text needs to include a line-break, use a Text Area field.
The Text field can be used to enter text on a form.
The Text field can be configured with a formula to display a calculation result. For example, the field can join a last name and first name by using the following formula: "FirstName&LastName". The field can also insert a space between the joined strings, as shown in the screenshot below, by using the following formula: "FirstName& " " &LastName".
Text Field Settings
- Field Name
Specifies the header of the entry item.
- Hide field name
Hides the field names on the screen to set forms and the screens to add, edit, enter details of, and print records.
- Calculate automatically
Specify a formula. Select the check box to reference other fields and display the calculation result of the referenced values.

- Required field
Select the check box to make the entry field required.
- Prohibit duplicate values
Prevents users from entering a duplicate value between multiple records.
If you set to prohibit duplication, the number of characters allowed to be entered in a field will be limited to 64.
- Number of Characters
Specifies the minimum or the maximum number of characters, or both.
- Default Value
Enter a value if you want that value to appear in the entry field by default.
- Field Code
A text string to identify the field. Field codes are used in formulas or API requests. A value is assigned by the system automatically, but you can change it to any value.
It is recommended to set the value easy to understand ("First_Name", "Last_Name", etc.).
