Text part You can place a Text field and use that field to enter a text.
You cannot use line-breaks.
You can use a Text Area field when entering multi-line text.

You can also specify a formula in a Text field. You can use this field to display a calculated result (text) by specifying a formula.

Usage Examples

  • You can use this field to enter a single-line text such as company name, department name, or contact name. Usage example of Text

  • You can use this field in a company directory app to enter a name.
    For example, you can place three fields for entering surname, given name, and surname/given name. You can combine a surname and a given name by specifying "Surname&Given_name" in a formula. It is also possible to specify "Surname& " " &Given_name" in a formula to put a space between surname and given name.

  • Field Name
    • Specifies the header of the entry item.
  • Hide field name
    • Hides the field names on the screens to add, edit, enter details of, and print records.
  • Calculate automatically
    • You can create a formula to display calculated result as a text.
      To specify a formula, use field codes for the fields to calculate.
      If you change the field code in the field setting, the same change is applied to the field code that is being used in the existing formula.

  • Required field
    • Select the check box to make the entry field required.
  • Prohibit duplicate values
    • Prevents users from entering a duplicate value between multiple records.
      If you set to prohibit duplication, the number of characters allowed to be entered in a field will be limited to 64.
  • Number of Characters
    • Specifies the minimum or the maximum number of characters, or both.
      If you specify minimum/maximum number of characters, those values are displayed under the field in the record input screen.
      If the number of characters entered exceeds those value, an error message is displayed when saving the record.
  • Default Value
    • Set the text that you want to display when entering data. You can also use it as a template when entering data.
  • Field Code
    • The text string to specify this field (in a formula or an API).
