The login from a mobile device fails and a message "Login failed. Log in to Kintone Mobile again." appears

If your login attempt from a mobile device fails and a message "Login failed. Log in to Kintone Mobile again." appears, your password may have been changed.
Check your password and try the login again.

If you enter a password provided by your administrator but still cannot log in with the error message displayed, the error may be caused by your mobile app version being too old that the password cannot be changed even though it is required to be changed at your login.

In such a case, try one of the following:

  • Update your mobile app to the latest version, change the password, and try logging in again.

  • Access Kintone from a Web browser on a smartphone or PC, change the password, and try logging in from the mobile app again.

Mobile app versions earlier than 2.10 do not support the feature to enable users to change the password set by an administrator to a new one at their login.

However, if the Force users to change their password on next login option is enabled in the "Login Security" setting in Kintone Users & System Administration, the following users will be asked to change their password on their next login.

  • Users created after the Force users to change their password on first login option is enabled
  • Users whose passwords are changed by a Kintone Users & System Administrator after the Force users to change their password on first login option is enabled

If the above users are using mobile apps earlier than 2.10, they will not be able to change the password set by an administrator to a new one at their login and an error message "Login failed. Log in to Kintone Mobile again." is displayed. Depending on the version of the mobile app, a different error message, such as "A new password is required.", may be displayed.

The mobile app version 2.10 and later versions support the feature to enable users to change the password set by an administrator to a new one at their login. It is recommended that you update your mobile app to its latest version.
