Edit/Delete Button (Icon) Is Displayed in View Even When a User Does Not Have Edit/Delete Permission for Records

In the Update Options setting, "The change that makes edit/delete buttons unavailable to click in View when users do not have enough permissions" might be disabled. If this change is disabled, users can click Edit Edit and Delete Delete buttons on the View even if they do not have Edit/Delete permissions in the "Permissions for Records" settings. However, it causes an error when saving the change or performing the deletion.

On the View, if you want to make the Edit/Delete buttons unavailable to click for users who do not have Edit/Delete permissions for records, perform the following steps to change the setting in the "Update Options". Note that you should have Kintone administrative permission to change the "Update Options" setting.

  1. Click Settings Settings icon in the upper right side of the Kintone screen to open Kintone Administration.
If you do not have Kintone administrative permission, you will not see "Kintone Administration". Picture

  2. Under "Other", click Update Options.

  3. Deselect "Disable the change that makes edit/delete buttons unavailable to click in View when users do not have enough permissions" option in the "Disable New Features" section.

  4. Click "Save" on the upper left side of the screen.
"The change that makes edit/delete buttons unavailable to click in view when users do not have enough permissions" is now enabled, and the Edit/Delete buttons in the View become grayed-out and unavailable to click for users who do not have Edit/Delete permission for records.
