You can choose the type of Authentication for Guest Users. Standard verification for guests is their email address and password. Two-step verification provides additional security by requiring guests to enter a verification code. When two-step verification is enabled, on guest's second and subsequent logins, in addition to entering their email address and password, the guest must enter a verification code to log in.

Enabling 2-Step Verification Authentication for Guests

This section explains how to enable 2-step verification authentication to enhance authentication for guests.

2-step verification authentication is an authentication method that requires users to enter not only their email address and password but also a unique verification code for every login. A verification code is valid only for one-time use and cannot be used for subsequent logins. This prevents unauthorized logins, even when a password is leaked to others. Guests receive their verification code at the email address specified for their login.

  • The password policy that is configured in System Administration is applied to guests’ passwords.

How to Enable/Disable Two-Step Verification
  1. From the Gear wheel gear_wheel.PNG select Kintone Administration
  2. Under Guests, click Guest Authentication
  3. Check or uncheck the box for 2-step verification.
  4. Click Save.
