Adding or Editing Departments

You can create Departments to target in @mentions, Process Management, Notifications, Permissions, etc. Edit and manage Departments in Users & System Administration

How to Add a Department: 

  1. From the Gear wheel gear_wheel.PNG select Users & System Administration
  2. Under User Administration, select Departments & Users.
  3. Click new_department.png.
  4. Enter the Name for the department.
  5. Enter a Localized Name, if desired.
  6. Enter a Department Code. If blank, the system appends a Department Code to the department Name. You can use this code to target a department in an app. 
  7. In the Parent Department field, click the Org Chart Org Chart icon to display current departments and select the department you want to be the parent of this department.
    • If you want the department to be a root level department, leave (Root) selected.                                                                                                                                                                                                    (Root)                                                           
    • Start typing a department name, press Enter, and select it from the list of matching names.
  8. Enter an optional Description for the department.
  9. Click Save.

How to Edit a Department:

  1. From the Gear wheel gear_wheel.PNG select Users & System Administration
  2. Under User Administration, select Departments & Users.
  3. Hover over a Department's name to see the Options Options.                                                                                                            menu
  4. Click Edit to edit the Department. 
  5. Click Add Child Department to add Child Departments.
  6. Click Change Members and Department Administrators to manage users and admins of the department.
  7. Click Delete to delete the Department and all Child Departments

How to Reorder Departments: 

  1. Under User Administration, select Departments & Users.
  2. Hover over a Department's name to see the Options Options.
  3. Select Reorder.   
  4. Drag the department’s arrow Move icon up or down in the list.
  5. Click Save.
