Using the two-factor authentication to authenticate users twice when logging in to kintone.com can strengthen its security.

The two-factor authentication is available when Kintone Users & System administrators allow users to use it.
Users can confirm the two-factor authentication settings by accessing their Profile screen.

What Users Should Do

STEP 1: Installing TOTP App

To use the two-factor authentication, you need a time-based one-time password (TOTP) app.
When you log in to Kintone, enter the six-digit verification code generated by the TOTP app.

For iPhone or iPad

For Android devices

Google Play icon Install either one of the apps below into your device.

STEP 2: Enabling Two-Factor Authentication

  1. Access your account settings.
    At the upper right corner of the screen, click icon to the right of the user name, and then select Account Settings in the drop-down list.

  2. Click Login Name & Password.

  3. Click Enable in the Two-Factor Authentication section.

    The registration dialog for the two-factor authentication is displayed.
  4. Scan the QR code shown on the registration dialog using the TOTP app you installed in step 1.
  5. Enter the six-digit verification code generated by the TOTP app into the entry field in the registration dialog.

  6. Click Enable.


Please refer to the following if you cannot obtain a two-factor authentication verification code for some reason, for example because you have lost your mobile device or you do not have your device nearby.
