Changing Your Login Name and Password

Described below are the steps to change your login name and password on the "Account Settings" page.

Changing Your Login Name and Password

  1. View your profile.

    1. Click icon to show menu beside the user name in the header.
    2. Click Account Settings.
  2. Click "Login Name & Password".

  3. Check if you are allowed to edit the login name and the password.
    You cannot edit them in the following situations.
    In such cases, refer to "When you cannot change your login name or password".

    • Edit icon is not displayed in the Login name field.
    • If the following message appears in the "Password change" field: "To change your password, contact your administrator. ".
  4. Check the rules for login name and password.

  5. Change login name and/or password.

    • To change the login name
      1. Click Edit icon in the "Login Name" section.
      2. Enter a new login name.
      3. Click Save.
    • To change the password
      1. In "Change Password" section, enter old and new passwords.
      2. Click Save.

When You Cannot Change Your Login Name or Password

If the following screen appears, Kintone Users & System Administrator has prohibited users to change their login names or passwords.

If the Edit Icon Is Not Displayed in the Login Name Field

Without Edit icon, users cannot change their passwords by themselves.
Ask your administrator to change your login name.

  • If administrators want to allow users to change their login names on their own
    The profile settings need to be changed in Kintone Users & System Administration.

When the "To change your password, contact your administrator." Message Appears:

In this case, users cannot reset their passwords by themselves.
Ask your administrator to reset your password.
