Making Profiles Non-editable

By default, users can edit their profiles by themselves.
Checking Your Profile

When users edit their profiles, the updated content is also applied to the user information in Kintone Users & System Administration.
If you want to restrict the users who can update the user information only to Kintone Users & System Administrators, you can forbid users to change the profiles.

Making All Fields in Profile Non-editable

  1. Click gear shaped administration menu icon in the header.

  2. Click Users & System Administration.

  3. Click Departments & Users.

  4. Click Profile Settings.

  5. Select "Deny" of all fields in "Permission to Edit Profile".

  6. Click Save.
    Inform the users that their profile is non-editable if needed.

Making Some Fields in Profile Non-editable

You can make some fields non-editable such as "Login Name" and "Employee ID".
Fields that are not allowed to edit are grayed-out in Profile.

  1. Click gear shaped administration menu icon in the header.

  2. Click Users & System Administration.

  4. Click Profile Settings.

  5. Select "Deny" in "Permission to Edit Profile" for fields to make non-editable.

  6. Click Save.
    Inform the users that their profile has non-editable fields if needed.

Making Fields in Profile Editable

  1. Click gear shaped administration menu icon in the header.

  2. Click Users & System Administration.

  4. Click Profile Settings.

  5. Select "Allow" of fields to make editable in "Permission to Edit Profile".

  6. Click Save.
