For Department Administrators: Reordering Departments

Article Number:020130

You can configure the order in which departments appear in selection trees or drop-down lists on the administration screens. A department administrator is allowed to reorder child departments when the department administrator has administrative privileges for the parent department.

Reordering departments requires administrative privileges for the parent of the departments. The following figure illustrates which departments can be reordered by a department administrator who has administrative privileges for the Sales Division and the HR & GA Division.

Figure: Showing that it is possible to reorder departments if you have administrative privilege for their parent department

The department administrator has administrative privileges for the Sales Division and, therefore, is allowed to reorder the child departments (Sales Department 1 and Sales Department 2). Similarly, the department administrator has administrative privileges for the HR & GA Division and, therefore, is allowed to reorder the child departments (Human Resources Department and General Affairs Department). However, the department administrator is not allowed to reorder the Sales Division and the HR & GA Division, because the department administrator does not have administrative privileges for Tokyo Head Office.
